Wireless Modems
For applications where running long cable runs from scale equipment to StatPak-PC is not cost effective or
practical, we offer a robust & inexpensive alternative. Cirronet's model HN-210 Wireless Modem transmits
data over long distances, such as parking lots, across a warehouse, or from a production facility to an
administration or engineering building.
This wireless modem is a versatile, low cost, multi-purpose 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping wireless data modem.
The modem has an integral 6dB patch antenna creating a “single piece” modem. Communication is through a
115.2 Kbps asynchronous serial port supporting a standard RS-232 interface. The modem communicates over
the air at 460.8 Kbps and supports both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networks.
With a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure and aluminum mounting flange, the modem is simple to install on the side
of a building or attached to a mast. With no antenna to connect, the modem is simply mounted where the antenna
would ordinarily be mounted. This removes the need for long antenna cable runs, expensive both in terms of cost
and performance.
The integral 6 dB patch antenna provides a line-of-site range of several miles, making this modem ideal for a
variety of “last mile” applications. The modem also is ideal for use in SCADA applications as remote modems
in multipoint configurations and is an extremely cost-effective solution for point-to-point installations.
Selectable transmit power levels of 10 mW and 100 mW allow the modem to be used worldwide even with the gain
of the patch antennas.
The modem is both FCC and CE marked. Combined with its operation in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, the modem can be
deployed around the world without a license.
